Ireland approves medical cannabis pilot

Legislation in Ireland has been passed to allow Ireland’s Medical Cannabis Access Programme to start as a five-year pilot. The legislation will allow people to access medical cannabis products where those products accord with regulations outlined in the legislation. Patients will be able to access medical cannabis products for treating conditions such as multiple sclerosis, nausea related to chemotherapy and severe epilepsy if referred by a medical consultant.
